"Green Diwali Awareness Walk" was organized by the Botanical and Environment Society P.G. Department of Botany, Khalsa College Amritsar. More than 300 students of different disciplines participated in the event. The students carried banners & placards to create awareness among the people. 'Nukkad Nataks' were also played which were very well received by the general public. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh encouraged the students to participate in such events. Prof. Kirandeep Kaur Hundal, Head P.G. Department of Botany also stressed upon the importance of 'Eco-Friendly Diwali' where fireworks, crackers, etc. to be avoided. The students were also motivated to participate in other environment friendly activities like planting/caring of trees, water conservation and harvesting, use of solar energy, use of less plastic etc. Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Madhu, Dr. Rajbir Singh, Dr. Prabhjit Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Sushant Sharma, Prof. Arpna Kumari, Prof. Manmeet Kaur, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, Prof. Ramandeep Kaur and Prof. Navjot Kaur were present during the event.
