Department of Food Science and Technology, Khalsa College Amritsar organized a seminar on Business opportunity in Food Industries. Dr. Vishal R Parate from Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology Bathinda was the resource person. He was of the view that food business is neither difficult nor it is an easy task. It has both opportunities as well as challenges. He introduced the students about training, governmental financial schemes and tax exemptions granted by the central and state government for running a food enterprise. Dr. M.S. Batra, director skill development centre Khalsa College on this occasion stressed the need for stringent training programs to develop a quality man force. Head of the department Dr. Manbir Singh thanked the guest and lauded the role played by Ministry Food Processing for the promotion of food business in the region. Dr. Gursharan Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Sukhbir Singh and other staff members were also present in the seminar.
