An educational trip to GADVASU, Ludhiana was organized on November 23, 2021 to acquaint the students in the field of Poultry, Dairy and Fish farming.

An educational trip to GADVASU, Ludhiana was organized on November 23, 2021 to acquaint the students in the field of Poultry, Dairy and Fish farming. To have a more practical approach to the subject Applied Zoology-II, the batch of students of M.Sc. Zoology (Semester-III) of Khalsa College Amritsar visited various animal rearing facilities at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. The students visited Cattle & Buffalo Breeding Farm, Poultry Research Farm and College of Fisheries. Students were also taken to the hydroponic unit adjoining the fisheries farm where the waste water of the fisheries farm was being utilized to grow vegetables.

At each farm, the students were accompanied by the professionals who provided a thorough knowledge of the setup and operational aspects. Various research schemes under ICAR, DADF GOI and Punjab Government are operational at GADVASU by the Directorate of Livestock Farms. It was quite an informative and wonderful experience for the students. The professionals also answered the queries of the students.
