PG Department of Zoology in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh organized a three days’ Workshop on ‘Physics learning through Low Cost Teaching Aids’ from 22nd to 24th December, 2021 for Science teachers of Government schools. 35 Science teachers from various districts of Punjab participated in this workshop. Dr. B.K. Tyagi (Scientist) Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest for this occasion. Dr. K.S. Baath, Principal Scientific Officer, PSCST Chandigarh was also present on this occasion. The basic aim of the workshop was to improve physics learning and to create interest in physics among children by conducting hands-on-activities and to clear the concepts of physics principals through simple low cost experiments.
Dr. Jasjit Kaur Randhawa, Head of Zoology Department inaugurated the workshop and apprised that Khalsa College had conducted similar workshops in the past too for communicating science. Dr. K.S. Bath in his address welcomes the experts and participants and thanked Khalsa College for hosting the workshop. Sh. B.K Tyagi introduced the concept of the workshop and outlined the agenda of learning and teaching physics through low cost teaching aids.
