Workshop on Bee-Keeping and honey testing (Feb. 08-09, 2019)

The Zoological Society, P.G. Department of Zoology organized a two days training

workshop on Bee Keeping in collaboration with Farmer Training Centre, Khalsa College Amritsar. About 100 students participated in this workshop. The students of B.Sc. (Medical) and M.Sc. (Zoology) visited the farmer training Centre, where S. Jaswinder Singh, Training Officer, provided the practical hands on training regarding various practices and techniques involved in bee keeping so that they can adopt it as an occupation in future.

On the 2^ndday of the workshop, a honey testing camp was organized in which officials from Agmark performed various tests to check the purity of different samples honey available in the market. Mr. Malwinder Singh, ADO demonstrated various techniques to test the purity of honey samples so as to check the adulteration. He also answered to the queries of the students related to the future scope of bee keeping and various Govt. schemes.
