The inaugural ceremony of computer labs was organized by the P.G Department of Computer Science and Applications, Khalsa College, Amritsar on September 23, 2023. Dr. Harbhajan Singh Head, P.G. Department of Computer Science and Applications welcomed the Chief Guest Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, and the Guest of Honours Prof. Devender Singh Registrar, and Dr. Taminder Singh Dean, Academic Affairs by giving them a living plant. The ceremony was initiated with the welcome speech of Dr. Harbhajan Singh where he mentioned that this is a landmark moment for the department to receive more than 100 computers for the computer labs as this will aid in increasing the digital literacy among students through various programs. Further, Principal Sir, Dr. Mehal Singh said that the key to the upliftment of the department is the collaborative hard work of the staff members of computer science department. He added that as the modern IT Era focuses more on practical rather than theoretical aspects, therefore the rise in digital literacy is essential. In addition to this, he highlighted the support of college management without whom the initiative to provide more than 100 computers would have been impossible.Later Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Head, P.G. Department of Computer Science and Applications gave a vote of thanks to the dignitaries by gracing them with mementos. Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Dr. Rupinder Singh, Dr. Mani Arora, Prof. Prabhjot Kaur, Dr. Anureet Kaur, and other staff members were also present during this inaugural ceremony.
