P.G. Department of Computer Science and Applications, Khalsa College, Amritsar and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) organized Techathon-2023 on October 17, 2023.  In this event the students competed for “Techathon-2023” with a variety of innovative themes. The students showcased their talent and generated out-of-the-box open innovation ideas. Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Head, P.G. Department of Computer Science and Applications and Dr. Rupinder Singh, Co-coordinator of the event welcomed dignitaries, Judges and participants. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh in his speech focused on the importance of organizing such innovative ideas competitions. Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. In SIH, the students would also have the opportunity to work on challenges faced within the private sector organisations and create world class solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation. Under this Smart India Hackathon, Khalsa College Amritsar is organizing Techathon 2023. In this event, themes statements linked to a range of topics are presented by the students including Agriculture, food and rural development, Blockchain and cybersecurity, Clean and Green Technology, Fitness, and Sports, Heritage, Culture, MedTech/ BioTech/HealthTech, Miscellaneous. In this event, 20 teams from different classes of P.G. Department of Computer Science and Applications participated. Dr. Rupinder Singh gave a vote of thanks to the dignitaries, judges and the participants. Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Dr. Mani Arora, Prof. Prabhjot Kaur, and Dr. Anureet Kaur were present in the event.
