P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration organised a workshop on Financial Education Awareness on 10 Sept. 2019

The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar organized a workshop on Financial Education Awareness on 10 Sept. 2019 at 11.00 A.M. in the seminar hall of Commerce department. Mr. Kuldeep Thareja, the senior manager, National Institute of Securities Market, Mumbai was the resource person in the workshop. Mr. Kuldeep Thareja possesses a very vast and in-depth knowledge about the securities market. Moreover, S. Bhagwant Singh Sidhu (Trainer, SEBI) was the guest of honour. The primary objective of the workshop was to impart practical training to the students about investment plans associated with securities market.

The workshop was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal and workshop Chairman), Dr Avtar Singh (Head, Workshop Director), PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Dr. A.K. Kahlon, (Dean, Commerce) and Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Workshop Coordinator). In the inaugural session, Dr. Poonam Sharma welcomed the resource person and introduced the distinguished guests. Dr.  Avtar Singh threw light upon the theme of the workshop. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh highlighted that the practical knowledge about various investment avenues for the students and faculty members is necessary besides having theoretical knowledge about these plans.

Mr. Kuldeep Thareja highlighted the significance of savings and investment in securities market and explained the basics of instruments dealt in the securities market. Around 200students and faculty members from the department participated in the workshop and gained knowledge about the practical utility of theses investment avenues. Dr. A.k. Kahlon, Associate Professor of the Commerce department proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the workshop., Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Rachhpal Singh, Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal, Prof. Meenu Chopra, Prof. Reema Sachdeva, Prof. Aanchal Arora, Prof. Sukhdeep Kaur, Prof. Sakshi Sharma, Dr. Shivani Nischal,Dr. Manisha Behal, Dr. Megha, Prof. Pooja Puri, Dr. Samiya, Dr. Komal Narang, Prof. Manpreet kaur, Prof. Hartejpreet Singh, Prof. Sukhjinder Kaur of the Commerce department were present in the workshop.
