COMM FEST 2022-23 was organized by Commerce Society of PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College Amritsar. More than 150 students from 12 prominent schools participated for various competitions like Ad Mad, debate, extempore, Quiz, Photography, Rangoli and Poster Making. Dr. A.K. Kahlon Dean & Head Commerce Department welcomed the Chief Guest S. D. S. Soach, IRS, Deputy Director, DGGI, Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, Teachers from various schools and students. S D.S. Soach in his Speech motivated the students and encouraged them to think big. He said that the Key to success is to forgo the fear of failure. He also said that there are plenty career opportunities in our country. The students must study professional courses and focus on studies than on electronic gadgets. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh appreciated the effort of the department and expressed his happiness over the response given by various schools to this initiative. He said that such platforms help in developing overall personality of students. The events were judged by Dr. Surjit Kaur, Prof. Supninder Kaur, Prof. Daljit Singh, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Harjit Kaur, Dr. Mehtab Kaur, Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, Dr. Sunita, Prof. Rozi, Prof. Emmanuel and Prof. Sharda from Theatre Department. In Ad-Mad, Majha Public School, in Rangoli Khalsa College Public School, in Photography Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School (GT Road), in Debate and Quiz Senior Study II, in Extempore Springdale senior School and in Poster making DAV International School stood first.
The Prize Distribution function was presided over by Prof. Devender Singh, Registrar, Khalsa College Amritsar. Dr. Deepak Devgan extended vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, Principals of the participating Schools, Teachers, Staff Members and all the students for participating in the fest. Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Prof. Reema Arora, Dr. Megha, Prof. Pooja Puri, Prof. Amanjot Kaur, Dr. Manisha Behal and other staff members of the department were present in the fest.
