The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar organized Seminar on 'Role of Information Technology in Business Management' on 22^nd September. Dr.Manik Sharma, Dean and Associate Professor, D.A.V University, Jalandhar was the resource person in this seminar. Dr.Manik Sharma possesses vast and in-depth knowledge of Information Technology and its significance. The primary objective of this seminar was to acquaint the students with various IT skills required for optimising business performance.

The seminar was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr.Mehal Singh (Principal) and Dr. A. K Kahlon(Dean and Head).Dr. A. K.Kahlon, Head Commerce welcomed the resource person.Dr.Rachhpal Singh (Coordinator)threw light upon the theme of the programmeand  introduced the distinguished guest.Dr.Manik Sharma explained the significance of IT for safe business as it is crucial part of any company to monitor and manage everything that is to do with information technology and communication systems. He also highlighted on the ways of improving communication and workplace skills to the participants.

More than 100students from commerce department participated in the programme and gained knowledge about the ITskills required for the jobs and interviews in Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector.

Dr.SawrajKaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr.Poonam Sharma, Dr.Ajay Sehgal and other faculty members of Commerce department were present during the seminar.
