The P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized the Inter Institutional Business Plan Competition in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Cell, Khalsa College Amritsar on 2nd November, 2023. This event was planned and executed under the directions of Principal Dr.Mehal Singh {Programme Chairman), and Dr.A..K. Kahlon (Programme Director). The judges of this competition were Dr.A.K.Kahlon, Dr. Ajay Sehgal and Dr.Rachhpal Singh. The students from the different schools participated in this competition with PPT Presentation throwing light onIdentifying business opportunities, developing a business model and writing a formal business plan, performing market research and feasibility analysis using primary and/or secondary data, developing communication and organizational skills, working individually or as part of a team.
Principal Dr.MehalSingh, exhilarated the students by saying that such competitions can provide a plethora of benefits to the participants.Dr.A.K.Kahlon, Program Director welcomed the participants and inspired them for enhancing their participation in these competitions to develop interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, character formation, and other soft skills that are essential for success and overall growth in their personality not only in the classrooms and workplace but also in different areas of their life. Jaskirat Singh Arora and SagunaAggarwal from D.A.V. International won 1ST Prize, GurleenKaur and SupandeepKaur from G.N.D.D.A.V Public School, Bhikhiwind won 2nd Prize and InderbeerKaur and JashanpreetKaur fromS.G.H.P.Sr.Sec. School, G.T.Road, Amritsar won 3rd Prize in the competition.
Dr.SawrajKaur, Programme Coordinator highlighted that Competitions can be a stepping-stone for students to achieve greater things in life. It can also help in everyday life by minimizing the impact of failure and reframing setbacks as learning opportunities.
Dr. Deepak Devgan, Programme Co-Coordinator underlined that such event can inspire entrepreneurial thinking among students. If a student decides to become an entrepreneur, an entrepreneurial mindset is essential.
