The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized One Week Workshop on Income Tax and E-Filing of Return for Students from 8th April to 13th April, 2024

The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized One Week Workshop on Income Tax and E-Filing of Return for Students from 8^th April to 13^thApril, 2024 in the Main Hall of Commerce Department. The primary objective of the workshop was to impart practical training to the students of B.Com VI Regular & Hons. about the IncomeTax and E-Filing of Return. CA Vibhore Gupta was the Chief Guest in the workshop. He is senior partner in one of the leading Chartered Accountant Firm of Amritsar M/s S Kumar Gupta and Co. established in the year 1969. He has post qualification experience of around 17 years in the field of Direct and Indirect  Taxation, Audit and Banking. CA Shilpa Gupta, .ICAI registered career counsellor faculty was the resource person in this workshop. She is expert in the field of taxation who provided practical knowledge to the students regarding various aspects of Direct Taxation such as filing of ITR-I, TDS, Form-26AS, Form-16, Form-16A, Pay Roll Process and Advance Payment of Tax.

This Workshop was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr.Mehal Singh (Principal and Workshop Chairman), Dr. A.K.Kahlon (H.O.D & Workshop Director), Dr. Deepak Devgan (Workshop Coordinator) assisted by Prof. Reema Sachdeva and Prof. Shivali Sharma. In the inaugural session, Dr. Deepak Devgan welcomed the resource persons and introduced the distinguished guests. Dr.Mehal Singh motivated the students by saying that “Problems and difficulties should not stop you from moving forward. Keep going, believe in yourself, and take every chance to learn new things and get better at what you already know. Dr. A.K.Kahlon threw light upon the theme of the workshop and highlighted the importance of gaining practical knowledge regarding different aspects of taxation as it can help them a long way in their professional career. CA Vibhore Gupta enthused the students by saying that “Think of every day as a new journey, a chance to learn new and interesting things. Use these chances to grow as a person and try to become the best version of yourself”. Dr. Deepak Devgan delivered vote of thanks. Around 160 students from the department participated in the workshop.
