The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar organized a  Seminar on “Ace Your Government Exams : Expert Guidance and Strategies” in association with IBT Institute Private Ltd., Amritsar on 9 September, 2024 at Seminar Hall in Commerce Department. Mr.Jatinder Kumar, Centre Head, IBT and Mr.Jatin Mohan Sharma, Centre Co-ordinator were the resource persons in the programme. The resource persons possess vast and in-depth knowledge of the career opportunities available for the students in the various government sectors. The primary objective of the Lecture was to prepare students for various competitive exams by polishing their skills in the areas of aptitude and communication, to capture the available job opportunities in the government sectors like banking, taxation and Insurance, etc. The primary objective of the programme was to acquaint the students with the abundant career opportunities as a path to succeed in their career. The programme was planned and executed under the supervision of  Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal and Seminar Chairman),  Dr. A. K Kahlon (Dean, Head   and Seminar Director) and Dr. Poonam Sharma (Seminar Coordinator).  Dr. A. K. Kahlon extended floral welcome to the resource person.

Dr. Mehal  Singh  addressed the participants and shared his views about the difficulty level of the Government Exams being risen every year. It is clear that the recruiting bodies are expecting more than just rote learning from the candidates. The students must have conceptual clarity and an analytical mindset & ability to apply the information learned to ace Government Exams.

Dr. A. K. Kahlon  enthused  the  participants that  they  need  mentors who could guide them in cracking any competitive exam. So the present seminar aims to bridge the gap  and this will enable the students to succeed in competing for the government jobs.

 Dr.Poonam Sharma threw light upon the theme of the Seminar and introduced the distinguished guests while  Dr. Manisha Behal conducted the stage.

 Mr.Jatinder Kumar explained the various job opportunities available for the Commerce Graduates and Post Graduates. He also highlighted on the ways of improving communication and workplace skills to the participants. Mr.Jatin Mohan Sharma, provided short cut techniques to solve the mathematical problems within seconds and motivated students to be always updated with the current affairs and news. Dr. Manisha Behal presented vote of thanks to the resource person and Prof. Meenu Chopra took over the charge for broadcasting of the event.More than 100 students from commerce department participated in this Lecture and gained knowledge about the success mantra for clearing competitive exams in government Sector and procuring Government jobs. Dr.Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr.Ajay Sehgal and other faculty members of Commerce department were present during the programme.
