Journalism students of Khalsa College Amritsar visited Daily post and The Tribune Chandigarh Organising educational trips is a routine feature of every department at Khalsa College Amritsar, recently in order to give practical exposure about Print and Electronic Media field, to the students of Journalism, PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the College organised an educational trip to Chandigarh on 4 -5th November 2023. The students visited the office of the Tribune and they were also taken to the office of Daily post channel Chandigarh. The main aim of this trip was to familiarize the journalism students about the working of print as well as the electronic media which was informed by Principal Dr. Mahal Singh. During the visit to newspaper office the students shared an interaction with the entire staff of the Tribune. The students were demonstrated about working structure of The Tribune. They were also informed about policy of newspaper and its day-to-day activities. They were also guided about career prospects in the Print Media. The staff of Daily Post Channel explained the students about news production process, how news is edited and modelled and how to provide finishing to news through graphics and animation. Speaking about this trip Head of the Department Dr Sania Marwaha expressed confidence that the such initiatives would go a long way in shaping students’ future in the world of media and technology. The students were accompanied by Head of the department Dr Sania Marwaha, Prof Soundarya Kochar, Prof Surbhi Sharma, Prof Hari Singh and Prof Harjit Singh.
