Students of B.Sc. (H) Agriculture Year-IV, P.G. Department of Agriculture, Khalsa College, Amritsar were flagged off by the Principal Dr. Mehal Singh for ICAR prescribed RAWE programme (Rural Agriculture work Experience Programme) on 10thFerbruary, 2020.
A total of 106 students of the department have been attached to 3 villages (Bandala, Jagatpura and Bohru) for 8 week compulsory training to study the socio-economic profile of the villages, agronomic practices followed, plant protection measure adopted, soil improvement techniques, extent of fruits & vegetable production, extension services provided and animal production intervention of the villages.
The students will ensure comprehensive study of the area & record their observations. They will also disseminate information to farmers about latest techniques, equipment, policies and schemes of the government regarding current agrarian problem.
