Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP), Indore, the national level regulatory body in the profession of Physiotherapy, has awarded membership for five academic years to the Department of Physiotherapy, Khalsa College Amritsar. As a result of this membership, the passing out students of the department during session 2018 to 2022 will be benefitted with direct membership of IAP without appearing in the IAP examination. The inspection team from IAP headed by Dr. Sanjeev K. Jha, President, Indian Association of Physiotherapists and Dr. Ruchi Varshney, National Head, IAP Women Cell, visited the Department of Physiotherapy on 30 th March 2019. The team appreciated the well equipped laboratories of the department. The team also visited OPD of the department and interacted the patients and staff and praised the physiotherapy services provided by the college on charitable basis.
Principal Dr. Mehal Singh intimated that the department was awarded IAP membership previously for two years and now with continuous support of S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary, the department is able to achieve this membership for five academic years. Dr. Davinder Kaur Dhillon, Head, Department of Physiotherapy said that the Department of Physiotherapy
has been growing continuously under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Mehal Singh and with the support of Management the department has been provided with advanced equipment of latest techniques related to Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics and Neurological conditions.
Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal, Khalsa College congratulated all the staff members for this achievement and appreciated their hard work.
