Amritsar October 13, 2021. The English Literary Society of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a Paper Reading and Western Singing Competition. Dr. Mehal Singh, the principal of thecollege graced the occasion as the chief guest while Prof. Anupam Sandhu presided over.
The programmed commenced with the recitation of College Shabad. Dr. Mehal Singh in his address said that literature is great wealth of accumulated wisdom of centuries. It makes human beings sensitive also guides him to deal with present problem. Prof. Anupam Sandhu in her speech said English language connects with us world literature. It is also a means to present local issues and experiences before the world through literature.
Dr. Tarminder Singh Bhatia, Dean Academics Affairs and Director IQAC, Prof. Sukhmeen Bedi, OSD and Assistant Controller Examination, Dr. Zorawar Singh and Dr. Rosy functioned as Jury. Dr. Bhatia in his addressed praised the Department for organizing the event and said such events are essential for the holistic development of students. Prof. Sukhmeen Bedi in her speech apprised that Co-curricular activities inculcate self confidence and prove to be beneficial in future.
More than 20 students participated in the event. Miss. Ravgun, Riya Saini, Vijya pal, and Samridhi Sehgal won the prizes in the competition. The stage was conducted by the Miss Simran Kaur Sohal and Miss Riya Saini students of B.A. (Hons.) English Sem- V.

Prof. Parneet Dhillon, Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Prof. Malkinder Singh, Prof. Sawant Singh Manto, Prof. Daljeet Singh, Prof. Mamta Mahendru, Prof. Vijay Bernard, Prof. Pooja Kalia, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Prof. Harsh Salaria, Prof. Saurav Megh, Prof. Markas were present in this occasion.
