The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College, Amritsar, organized the ninth edition of the seminar series titled "International seminar on Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences (RACS-IX)" on 19th January, 2023

The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College, Amritsar, organized the ninth edition of the seminar series titled "International seminar on Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences (RACS-IX)" on 19^th January, 2023. The seminar aimed to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and students to discuss the recent advancements in chemical sciences and share their research findings.

The event   began   with   Organising  Secretary, Dr. Seema Rani extending warm welcome to all present in the audience. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. BK Randhawa, Head of the Department of Chemistry, who welcomed the distinguished guests, including Dr. Ollalla Vazquez from Germany, Dr. Palwinder Singh from GNDU, and Dr. Gaurav Bhargava from PTU, Kapurthala. The chief guest Dr. Ollalla Vazquez shared his research interests in chemical biology tools for future therapies. Dr. Palwinder Singh spoke about drug design and development, with a case study for developing multi-target molecules against Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Gaurav Bhargava delivered a talk on transition metal-catalyzed cycloaddition reactions.

The seminar also witnessed a poster presentation session, where more than 50 posters were presented by research scholars, faculty members, and students, which were evaluated by the experts. In the valedictory function, the best poster awards and certificates were distributed to the participants by the resource persons.

Dr. Hardeep Kaur gave a brief introduction about the college and Chemistry Department. The event was attended by faculty members and renowned personalities such as Dr. Amit Anand, Dr M.S. Batra, Dr. Harvinder Kaur, Dr. Taminder Singh, Dr. Jasjit Kaur Randhawa, Dr. Kultar Singh, Dr. Punita, Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Dr. Navalpreet Kaur, Dr. Kuljit Kaur, Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur, Dr. Jasneet Kaur, Dr. Aabroo Mahal, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Prof. Omish Sethi, Dr. Lovepreet Singh, and Prof. Kulwinder Kaur, among others.

The seminar provided an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange their ideas and experiences, fostering future collaborations and partnerships.
