NSS Activities 2024-25

NSS ACTIVITIES JUNE 2024 ONWARDS

1)      Yoga Day was organized on 21-6-2024 in which more than 60 students participated and performed Yoga and other meditation exercises for two hours in the main college ground under the expertise of trained Yoga expert. Dr Zorawar Singh, Dr Seozy Bhatia and Prof. Gurpreet Singh were also present in the occasion.

2)      Drug Awareness day was celebrated on 29-7-2024 by NSS department of Khalsa College, Amritsar. A lecture was given to students about this menace. Further, various slogans were raised by the students. More than 35 students participated in this lecture.

3)      HIV Awareness day was observed on 28-7-2024 at the Department of Zoology to engage NSS Volunteer students to work together for HIV/AIDS education, prevention, treatment, care and support. A lecture was delivered by Dr Amandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Zoology about the prevention measures of AIDS.

4)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a One Day Seminar on Union Budget on 23-7-2024.  The main theme of the program was to aware the students about the concept and various terms related with Union Budget. More than 70 students participated in the event and gained knowledge.

5)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar organized One day seminar on student health on 7-8-2024 under the leadership of Dr Zorawar Singh, Dr Seozy Bhatia and Prof. Gurpreet Singh. Dr Varinder Kaur, Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy, addressed the students in the seminar. Her lecture focussed on promoting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing among the students. The students appreciated the practical advices given by her and felt more informed about managing their health.

6)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar celebrated Independence Day on 15-8-2024 in the college. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh told the students that this day marks the culmination of a prolonged struggle led by freedom fighters of India. Independence Day celebrates justice, equality and self-determination. Dr Zorawar Singh, Incharge NSS, said that this day should be celebrated as it marks a historic milestone with the nation honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters. The celebration included flag distribution among students. Dr Harbias Singh, NCC Incharge and Dr GS Malhi, Incharge, Rotaract Club were also present at the event.

7)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar celebrated National Space day on 23-8-2024 with the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission. Dr Sandeep Singh delivered a lecture highlighting the importance of this special day and encouraged students to develop a scientific aptitude. Harpreet Kaur, a student of Food Science and Technology department, displayed a poster on National Space day.
