Prayers, Recitation of Hymns mark ‘Ardas Diwas’ at Khalsa College

The prayers and recitation of hymns from Gurbani today marked the `Ardas Diwas' at historic Khalsa College. The students, staff and teaching fraternity came out together with the management to organize the `prayers' for invoking the blessings from almighty on the beginning of the new academic session.
Jathedar, Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh addressed the gatherings of the students and stressed on the need to impart moral education along with conventional dissemination of knowledge while Bhai Balwinder Singh Lopoke recited verses from Guru Granth Sahib. The Ardas was performed by Bhai Surjit Singh. Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said the evils have set in the society today and social values are diminishing. He asked the youth to follow the path shown by our revered Gurus.
Chhina and Principal Khalsa College Dr. Mehal Singh honoured the religious dignitaries including Jathedars and others. The religious function was part of the management’s tradition of seeking blessings of the almighty to start the new session. Other present during the occasion included joint secretary Ajmer Singh Heir, Rajbir Singh, Harminder Singh Freedom, Member PS Bal, VC Dr. Gurmohan Singh Walia, Princpal Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal Dr. SPK Dhillon, Principal Dr. Manju Bala, Principal Kawaljeet Singh, Registrar, Prof Devinder Singh, Dean, Prof Navneen Bawa, teachers and students in large number.
