MoU between KHALSA COLLEGE AMRITSAR and ISDC

The college has added another feather in its cap by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) to offer B.Com with ACCA, UK and BBA with US CMA at the college. The MoU was signed between Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal, Khalsa College Amritsar and Mr. Shone Babu, Head of Partnerships, ISDC. During signing ceremony, Dr.Taminder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr.Arvinder Kaur Kahlon, Dean & Head, Department of Commerce, Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Assistant Professor in Commerce, Khalsa College Amritsar and Mr. Nikhil Sharma, Regional Manager-North, ISDC also took part in the MoU ceremony. This three-year undergraduate programme accredited by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK and Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA focuses on providing students with necessary skills and knowledge across Accounting, Finance and Management related disciplines. The students of the college will be able to take advantage of exclusive paper exemptions for ACCA and scholarship for CMA as a result of the ACCA and CMA integrated programmes.

ACCA, UK is one of the world’s most prestigious qualifications in the field of financial accounting that equips the students with the skills, knowledge and values to have successful careers and lead the organisations they work with in the future. Through intensive training sessions, the three-year B.Com in International Finance Programme accredited by ACCA will ensure that students gain in-depth understanding of industry-oriented financial and analytical tools, strategies, and management at an international level, as well as provide them with access to the skills set and expertise necessary to find, evaluate, and resolve the global industry-centric issues. IMA offering US CMA is the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business. Founded in 1919, IMA is one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession.

Talking about the MoU, Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal, Khalsa College Amritsar said, “We are enthusiastic and happy about our partnership with ISDC, which is designed to provide ACCA and CMA qualifications to our students. Dr.Taminder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs thanked Mr. Shone Babu and Mr. Nikhil Sharma from ISDC for initiating and successfully finalizing the process of MoU.
