A one day seminar cum workshop was today organized at Khalsa College’s Zoological department on “Drinking water quality testing”. The workshop was held under a project sponsored by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh and catalyzed by National Council for Science and Technology, New Delhi.
KCA Principal Dr.Mehal Singh said the project was sanctioned to Dr. Jaswinder Singh and Dr. Zorawar Singh, both assistant professors in Department of Zoology. Dr. M.S Bhatti, Assistant Prof., Department of Botanical and Environmental Science, GNDU, was the keynote speaker who emphasized on the need to conserve water. He depicted the data collected by him on the drinking water quality parameters and also demonstrated the method to checking pathogens in drinking water and explained the Indian drinking water quality standards given by Govt. of India.
Dr. Mehal Singh also released a brochures on water quality and management. He also emphasized on the need to conserve water and stop the water pollution at each and every level. Other present included HOD Dr. Jasjit Kaur Randhawa, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Dr. Zorawar Singh.
